The chapter is about of a child who fight with his new stepmother. He dont like him. He start to do nasty things so that she pushe him and his dad gets ride of her. But he begins accept her.

A Devoted Son.
This chapter is about a parents that work a lot to give hes son the best education and a good life. The child is grateful and takes care of she, making she last year great and peaceful. But the final of the chapter is not like his father wants.

jumble: To mix things in a confoused way.
hotpot: A stew of meat and vegetables cooked slowly in the oven and in a dish with a lid.
gallimaufry: A kind of stew, made up of scraps of various kinds. Sea term, and probably meaning the galley scraps.
literacy: The ability to read and write: basic/adult literacy.
dialect: The form of a language used in part of a country or by a class of people with grammar, words and pronunciation that may be different from other forms of the same language.
creole: A language formed by a mixing of two others language, and used as the main language in the community in which it is spoken.

history of ennglish

Old English (450-1100 AD ):
The Old English was spoken by the anglo-saxons, it was similar to the classical latin.

Middle English (1100-1500 AD):
During this time the low class spoken English and the court spoke French, this happened because William the conqueror conquered them.

Early Modern English (1500-1800 AD):
A lot of new words and frases entered the language, there was also a command language for the literature.


Late Modern English (1800-Present):
The difference of this English and the Early Modern Englisk is the amont of words because they needed new words for the industrial revolution.
